OSWALDTWISTLE WOMAN'S FATAL FALL.

A verdict of "Accidental death" was returned by the East Lancashire Coroner (Mr. F. Rowland.) at an inquest on Saturday at Church, on Mrs. Susannah Sudall, widow of the late Coun. James Robert Sudall, a former master plumber, 89, Rhyddings-street, Oswaldtwistle. Mrs. Sudall was 75 years of age. Evidence was given by her two daughters, Nellie and Beatrice Sudall, that on March 18th she fell downstairs and injured her right hip. She was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary, but on April 14th she came home at her own request, and in spite of every care passed away on Thursday morning. Dr. Pittard said she sustained a fracture of the neck of the right femur, and death was as a result of the injuries sustained. In returning the verdict, the Coroner expressed his sympathy with the relatives.

(Family lore claims the accident occurred during the War as a result of the "Black-out".)
