DEATH WHILE ON VISIT TO DAUGHTER

Mrs. Betsy Sudall, formerly well-known in business
circles in Blackburn, passed away on Saturday while on a visit to one
of her daughters in Grafton-road, West Bromwich.
Mrs. Sudall was the widow of Mr. James Sudall, with
whom she started business as a confectioner in Queen's Park-road over
40 years ago. Later they took another business in St. Annes, where they
also controlled a sub-post office, retiring in 1908. Although 79 years
of age deceased was remarkably active. She is survived by three sons
and four daughters, one of the former being Mr William Sudall, of Darwen-street,
and Wilpshire.
The funeral took place at Blackburn Cemetery on Wednesday
morning, the Rev. J.M. Miller, of St. George's Church officiating. The
mourners were Mr. and Mrs. W. Sudall (son and daughter-in-law), Mr.
and Mrs. B. Sudall (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. Jas. Sudall (son),
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Slater (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs.
W. Whalley (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. H. Briggs (son-in-law
and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. A. Claughton (son-in-law and daughter).
Mr. Fred Sudall (grandson) and Mrs. Sudall, Mrs. Ibbotson (grand-daughter),
and Mr Harold Ibbotson, Mr. Eric Sudall and Mr Arthur Slater (grandsons),
Miss Marguerite Briggs, Miss Kathleen Whalley and Miss Connie Sudall
(grand-daughters), Mrs. Bolton (sister-in-law), Mr. Will Dixon (brother-in-law),
Mr. Willie Slater (nephew) and Mrs. Slater and Miss Peake.
