Edward started in the sewing machine business
in Clitheroe from about 1888. He moved to Accringtom some time
around 1900 and the business continued through his son's Fred
Croasdale and John Croasdale until about 1980.
Fred Croasdale ran his business from Abbey Street and the Market
Hall. John Croasdale ran his business in Blackburn Road. Edward Croasdale's obituary The Observer

Mr. Edward Croasdale, 50, Queen's road, Accrington, who was in
business in the town for over 50 years as a sewing machine dealer,
was buried at Accrington cemetery on Tuesday. He died last Saturday
aged 84.
In his younger days Mr. Croasdale was a keen cyclist and afterwards
a pioneer motorist in the tri-car days. He was associated with
Oak-st Congregational Church. A wife and two sons, who are also
in the sewing machine business, survive.
The Rev. J. Campbell Lee conducted the funeral services. Floral
